Beautiful and practical, easy to erect and even easier to take down, the tipi is suitable for many occasions. Our larger tipi’s (6 metres diameter or more) are ideal for a market stall, workshop, promotional event, or special celebration - a wedding or birthday party in the garden, a family gathering, or ceremony.
Furnished with rugs, sheepskins and cushions, the space becomes a welcome chill out area. With a fire glowing inside, champagne on ice, and luxurious furnishings we can create the
perfect intimate setting for your wedding night, or a romantic hideaway.
The tipi is an eye- catching and attractive alternative to the more common square or rectangular tent or marquee.
Long poles create the tall elegant frame, and the (usually) heavy cotton canvas is secured
around a slightly tilted cone shape.
The sides of a tipi can be rolled up, offering a more open space between inside and outside. With the sides of the canvas left down a calming interior invites and welcomes you.
Inside, the tipi has a slightly oval floor shape with a central fire hearth (in the larger tipi’s).
An inner lining makes the interior cool in summer and warm in winter, so you have a comfortable and fun, alternative living, working or sleeping space year ‘round.
Most of our tipi’s are made using the traditional Sioux style, evolved over generations by Native American tribes on the Great Plains of North America. Historically, many and diverse cultures worldwide have used this same architectural design in some form. The iconic shape is tried and tested. Tipi’s are still used today all over the globe, from wild places to cities, as they capture the imagination and meet the needs of people everywhere.
